Comfort space

All sorts of sides are constantly competing for personal attention. As a consequence, one screams louder than the other. But once the ears become too overloaded, it is difficult to go on.

In moments like this, free comfort space is more important than ever. It allows you to let go, reflect and be yourself. An island that is far from the noise and yet has to assert itself against it constantly.

As this place is so hard-fought and yet essential, one should not neglect it but to mind it. Because in the end, you never know when you will need it next.

Amsterdam’s Prinsengracht

This photo shows a classical Dutch houseboat in Amsterdams Prinsengracht. These days, the number of boats allowed to reside in the city is limited, and therefore, there is a higher demand than supply. I took this photo in July 2021 and it is part of the Amsterdam Calendar 2022.

Hi there, I'm Stefanie, the photographer, and author of the blog post you're reading now.
