Talking observers (Dutch cows at the NDSM Werf)

Talking observers

Humans do it whenever, wherever, and with whom they can. They all love to talk. By doing so, you can share things about yourself and take part in the life of others. Although its essence is always the same, the intentions for doing so vary.

As people like to talk, many find it attractive to assume they have something to say about everything. Therefore, speaking, sharing opinions, and advising about anything without solid knowledge is common – a needless attempt to make yourself be heard and seen. As a consequence, a lot of pointless conversations, discussions, and arguments occur.

Yet, you can sometimes better make your name by not interfering in all things. If you let others speak and listen as an observer, you may learn quickly whether you think it is worth participating in a conversation or not.

Dutch cows at the NDSM Werf

At the NDSM-Werf in Amsterdam Noord, you can find not only street art, ateliers, coffee places, and flea markets but also a unique Dutch cow stature that is featured in the β€œAmsterdam Calendar” as the photo for August. The sculpture is of a golden-black and white cow that stands proudly in front of a rustic, industrial backdrop with its head held high. It adds a sense of whimsy and charm to the area, making it an excellent place for a summer stroll. Plus, it’s a great photo op for anyone looking to add something unique.
