A place to stay

Finding a new home often turns out to be a challenging endeavor. Finding something with enough potential to become the new lodging takes time, nerves, and effort. At some point, however, almost everyone finds a new place to stay.

But it is far from over. As the new environment naturally lacks coziness and warm personal touch, the new place to stay lacks an individual transformation to finally become a home to feel comfortable. And therefore, the effort is not finished yet.

After a sufficient amount of time, the nest finally became welcoming. Can it only adapt to the new place and learn its features? Then, the new place becomes a place to stay, allowing you to ease up and finally let yourself go again.

Houseboats in Amsterdam

I took this photo in Amsterdam’s Flevopark. You can see part of it in Winter, making it possible also to see one of the many houseboats in Amsterdam. This beautiful park is in the east of Amsterdam, and you mostly won’t find many tourists there like in the famous Vondelpark. Since this park is in the east of the city, it is very close to many different waterways. This photo shows a typical houseboat on the lake “Nieuwe Diep” that directly borders the park.

Amsterdam is a city known for its canals, and what better way to experience them than by staying on a houseboat? Houseboats are a unique and affordable accommodation option in Amsterdam, and they offer travelers a chance to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. While some might hesitate to stay on a houseboat because they're unsure what to expect, there's no need to worry. Amsterdam houseboats are comfortable and well-equipped, providing visitors with an authentic Dutch experience.

Hi there, I'm Stefanie, the photographer, and author of the blog post you're reading now.
