Erica's short living surprise
Some things make their way as a surprise. And as fast as some of them appear, they are also quick to present accomplished facts. Many of these surprises are short-lived, and therefore, you can only enjoy them when they are really there.
And so it was with this scene which was suddenly there. Erica’s beautiful color play with its surroundings caused me to go home to bring my camera immediately because otherwise, I would have been too late.
Autumn in the Netherlands
I took this photo in fall 2020. You can see Ericas growing on the floor of a forest in “De Bilt” (Netherlands). There are more than 800 known kinds of Erica. The one on the photo usually blooms between August and September.
